Once a Woolverstonian

From 1960 to 1967 I attended Woolverstone Hall School. Woolverstone was an experimental boarding school, where boys from all sorts of backgrounds and social classes were brought together and offered a high level of education, based not on what their parents could pay in fees, but on their intellectual capacity. It was a huge success, at least until the Conservatives decided to mess with it (well, it was a Socialist idea…) and brought it to an ignominious end.
