The village itself is its own memorial, of course. Before entering the village, however, the visitor passes through the "Centre de la Mémoire," where exhibitions in connection with the massacre are held and which holds a small bookshop. Memorial tablets throughout the village mark places where bodies were found. A large column dominates the cemetery, commemorating the massacre victims. Going from the old village towards the new village of Oradour-sur-Glan, one passes the memorial to the women.
