A Stone For Danny Fisher became Elvis's film, King Creole.
The book was written by Harold Robbins in 1952, though its tale is set some years earlier, from the 1920s up to 1944. In the novel, Danny is a boxer, rather than a singer, as portrayed by Elvis. Elvis didn't become a boxer until Kid Galahad, in 1962.
